Cacio e pepe with some of the best pecorino romano I've ever tasted.
Grilled nectarine salad with dried cranberries (I boil them in a little OJ before putting in the salad), toasted almonds, blue cheese, over tossed greens.
Tangerine kombucha for me; white wine for the RG.
Dessert is freshly baked chocolate cookies and iced tea.

(38,533 posts)I so wanted meatballs, but we used most of the ground beef for cheeseburgers last night.
Dessert is homemade apple crumble.
Al informed me that the food has to be "bland" over the weekend. He's having a colonoscopy on Monday, and there are restrictions on what he's allowed to eat (that's why there was no salad w/ dinner tonight). I get that there's stuff he can't have, but I don't know why what he CAN have has to be flavorless. We'll figure it out.
