Wow, I am clueless I know, but just got a impact drill, it is amazing....

I had always used a regular electric drill to remove screws, drive screws, etc.

I am replacing my deck board and the drill was stripping the screws and not working to remove them. On the first board alone I did not remove any without stripping them. So I drilled around them and then removes the board and used pliers to remove the screws.

I read online and then I just bought an impact drill at Home Depot and it is removing every single one of the screws.

Wow, how much time I have wasted in the past! I was a clueless!

Yeah, it's close to a religious moment the first time (this coming from an avowed atheist). X_Digger Oct 2013 #1

The only downside is that you'll sometimes snap the head / shank of a screw off if you're not careful.
