get chalk dust on the coats. If you can sub a marker board or put some cork tiles on it with a bin of push pins to post things, that might work a bit better. It's attractive enough to bag the whole message board idea completely.

I've done some of my best stuff with odds and ends I experiment with because it's either me or the birds.

I've got the frame and a piece of tempered hardboard. I was going to just get a can of chalkboard paint and take a whack at it, but you make a good point.

I think I've got a piece of cork, if it's the right thickness, that would also work there.

The one on top for hats and scarves, the one on bottom for coats?

After all, message boards are a little obsolete now that everybody's out there texting each other. Nobody's got a chance to space anything important.

Your work also demonstrates artistic values as well. Having no particular plan in mind leaves a wide open window for the free flow of creativity. You ever do any spray painting -with a airless painting compressor ? Or staining ?

But my compressor isn't quite beefy enough to handle a large project. I've used it to spray lacquer on small pieces.

I want to get one of those high volume low pressure sprayers for larger projects.. but for now, it's either rattle cans or rollers / brushes.
