It's very difficult to NOT over do things, at the beginning of gardening season

We're at 72 in Flint, MI. I'm still giving a lot of the 'debris' a little more time to make sure the insects have become active. I'm seeing some but not enough, IMHO. Still, there are weeds that can be pulled and tree winter-fall to be collected.

I was thinking I'd go sit beneath the limbs of my air conditioned Maple tree and enjoy a glass of wine, this afternoon, but then I realized there's no leaves, yet!

Thanks to two days of heavy rain, my back lot is far too soggy to even THINK about mowing so maybe I'll call it a day. Most of the weeks should be relatively nice so there's no need to push myself. At least that's my thinking.

It's been full on spring here in North Texas. We have had LOTS of rain here too. The wildflowers are abundant. flying_wahini Apr 14 #2

I bought a few bedding plants but still too muddy to plant them.
I think since we had a couple of 90* days in late Feb (ruined my English peas and cilantro) but lettuce and spinach coming in nicely.

I keep reminding myself that I need to set a timer on my phone - 30 minutes - then take a break. I try to do no more than 2 30-minute sessions in a day or I'm paying for it for several.

I am batting .500 in remembering the first time. This year, I broke my foot, so until I have surgery, I'm pretty much sitting on my porch looking at my weeds and the perennials that need to be divided. I might get hubs to do that for me later today as well as digging out spreading rose clumps.
