...I have to give up my three cats. I have to move to Missouri, and they can't come with me. This is a desperate situation, so anyone that thinks they have room for them, or knows someone who may, please...please let me know.
This is Chili Pepper and Snoopy. I'd love to find a place for them together. They're very close. They would probably get along with other cats, in time. Chili would probably not mind at all. Dogs, not sure. They've been near dogs, and weren't aggressive towards them, but I can't say for sure. They're both very affectionate, completely non-aggressive towards people. They both seem "okay" around children, but haven't had to live with them. They're both 9 years old.

This is Squeak, she's special. She's very affectionate and non-aggressive towards people, but she CAN NOT be around other animals or children. She's 100% lap cat, but will take a little time to get used to her surroundings. Once that happens, she's the sweetest little girl on earth. She had some brain damage at birth, so she always looks a little freaked out. That's normal. Think Grumpy cat without the frown.

I really appreciate any help, at all. I've contacted all the local no-kill shelters and they won't take them. Either no space or they're too old. My last resort will be the Humane Society and they won't guarantee that they wouldn't be put to sleep. These are my babies and my heart is completely broken. I'm running out of options.

(19,288 posts)But I'm moving and have all ready taken in two people and a cat and a standard poodle.
My Ralphie is looking so frail and weak. I'm afraid I may lose her soon. She was near death last year and made a heroic comeback. Squeak sounds adorable. And I call Ralph my Squish.
I'd have a Squeak and a Squisher.
I would if I could!

(8,492 posts)I'm so sorry about your baby. I've been through it so many times. I keep saying I won't do it again, but then someone asks me if I can "watch their cat for a few weeks" and...bam...I own a kitty. Used to happen with dogs, too. No more dogs, definitely. I know I'll have another cat, someday. Just one, this time. I swear.
Squeak would probably try to kill Squisher. She's sweet as hell, but terribly jealous.
My best to your Ralphie and good luck on your move!

K&R for exposure, and the best for you and your cats. I hope you find someone.
By the way, all 3 are absolutely gorgeous.

(2,865 posts)I have 5 cats and 3 dogs myself. Somehow I was able to move from South Florida and find an apartment in the City of Boston. I lived there for almost two years, then I had to move back to South Florida. Real Estate agents were completely useless to me. One even hung up the phone on my wife. She must of thought we were some kind of joke. Anyway, I used Facebook because I'm friends with lots of animal rescue folks. I found a home to rent with a fenced in yard in less than 60 seconds after posting my request to a rescue page. Is there any chance you can keep them? I know it's a long shot, but if I can do it maybe you can too? My dogs are big mixed breeds from the pound, all 85-95 lbs. Good luck to you and your kitties! I hate to see this kind of thing happen to anyone.

(8,492 posts)I don't have any money, so I'm moving in with my son and DIL. Their place doesn't allow pets. I was initially hoping to move back to Chicago to get my own place that allowed cats, but it's going to be impossible.
Thank you.

(3,747 posts)You have to find a good home, and a safe way to meet. That said, it can be a very useful place. At least two of my friends have dogs they got on craigslist, both from people in situations similar to yours.

(5,037 posts)Wish I could take them but with 2 of my own and a partner who frowns on me even mentioning feeding the neighborhood ferals/strays to do a trap, neuter, release them its not going to happen!

(8,492 posts)...your kind words and support have meant so much. This has been hell for me.
Kicking this one last time. If I don't find something by Monday, I'm contacting the Humane Society to make an appointment.
