Related: About this forumAnyone use a self-cleaning litter box?
Wondering how those work and how often the tray into which the waste goes needs to be emptied...thanks.

(11,862 posts)The container is not so big
OKAY, how they work...it is electrical and needs to be plugged in...it knows when kitty goes, and has a set of forks that scrapes the litter (must be clumping litter) box, and places the remnants into the box at the end...at which time 'it' becomes yours
Then there is always this:

(11,862 posts)If your friend/sitter is a cat lover...it would not be a big deal to clean the box

(17,276 posts)That she needs to look in the litter box at every visit because it's one way to know if any of the cats is sick. Normal poos and pees are reassuring if you can't be there all day to observe their behavior.
