GPS Tracker for dog?

My dog (pointer/hound mix) is an escape artist. She is chipped and has tags on her collar with my phone number. She's escaped a few times and luckily I've always been able to find her by driving around the neighborhood. Has anyone ever used a GPS tracker on a dog's collar? Would it pinpoint her location precisely enough to find her? We saw some on Amazon but I wonder how well they work.

My escape artist dog hasn't done a runner in a long time.

A Google search for "pet GPS tracking" returns a lot of items at what seem reasonable prices (assuming they work).

On our Maine Coon cat in his last days. He was a big cat so he could wear it without it being a burden. It was great! That damn cat traveled a circuit or 8-10 blocks daily. We met all these folks that knew him and loved him dearly and some how all knew his name, Boomer. It gave us great peace of mind to be able to find him or just know who's house he was at. He beamed up too soon but he was a GREAT CAT! The GPS tracker really helped us. FWIW

We got this dog because she kept escaping from the house of her first home and one of my middle child's workmates kept on rescuing her. She escaped from our year a couple of times the first day she was here. We have a Whistle GPS that works great. I like the Whistle system.

BTW, huskies are infamous for being escape artists. We have fortified the fence in our yard with dig guards and replaced the back yard gate with a gate that did not have a gap. One of our neighbors is amused when he sees the dog's head looking at him from underneath the fence.

My escape artist loves to go out and make friends. I keep a lead and one of her squeaky toys in my car and she is happy to get back into the car when I squeak the toy

Good luck.

Combination GPS tacker and FitBit for dogs.

When she did it again, I was able to determine her location and found her 20 minutes after being notified

I have a Gordon Setter who is a mad runner, but she always makes it home. Her record is a day and a half. I looked at some of the choices, but most required a subscription. Too expensive for my tastes. And then there was the issue of having to have a cell signal. None at my house.

My beast has always made it home, so I've considered just strapping an old phone on her to see where's she's been using a GPS app. If only she could talk.

Best regards,
