'I want to take your guns'

"Banning guns addresses a fundamental right of all Americans to feel safe." - Senator Dianne Feinstein

"Banning guns is an idea whose time has come." - (then) Senator Joe Biden

"We must be able to arrest people before they commit crimes.
By registering guns and knowing who has them we can do that.
If they have guns they are pretty likely to commit a crime."
- Vermont State Senator Mary Ann Carlson

Senator Feinstein is quick to propose a ban when the right events occur.
Are we making progress in getting the idea across that a ban is a non-starter?

Let's start with background checks.

And holding people responsible for who they sell their guns to.

"Feelings" are a poor foundation on which to base any public policy.

Interesting thought process:
"We must be able to arrest people before they commit crimes."

What "people" would that be? And what would be the basis of the arrest (since they haven't yet committed a crime)?

Reminds me of the 'Frank Burns thought process' (a la MASH the movie): When Frank lost a patient, it was either God's will or someone else's fault.

It's truly amazing how those who can't accept responsibility for their own bad choices also don't hold criminals responsible theirs.

And we wonder why folks buy more and more firearms and ammo, has nothing to do with the NRA.

They can have peace of mind.
