Seems that legally carrying a firearm can get you beat down,by the police, in Mpls.

I wonder how much this will cost the taxpayers, of MN, and the City of Minneapolis.

Agreed, but it seems to be going exactly the opposite direction.

(1,076 posts)this guy gets beat for CWB (carrying while black) It is obvious that they meant to harass and belittle this man. They didn't even follow standard procedures. All they had to do was ask him to produce his carry permit, that's it. No beating, no concussion, no trip to the hospital or jail, no law suits. Just getting arrested these days is good for a trip to the hospital.
These cops are perfect examples of what is wrong with our police forces around the country. They have been allowed to investigate themselves for too long, it's like leaving a lit match in charge of dynamite. Cases like these need an independent investigating committee, and not one made up of retired cops and ex chiefs of police.
This needs to be looked at but we all know whats going to happen, nothing.

(10,201 posts)After a thourough "investigation" into the "incident", we found that the officers acted in accordance with department policy and could find no wrongdoing on the part of the officers.
Good thing he did not have any powdered aspirin, otherwise the mayor would have to go on TV and slander him.

(1,076 posts)close to what will be released. It's pretty sad when beating and harassing an innocent man is standard procedure. I'll bet he is glad he didn't leave his permit at home, it would have really gotten ugly. Now I know it was reported that this guy has had some previous run-ins with the law but he has nothing on his record that keeps him from owning a gun and carrying it...in other words cops..he was exercising his rights as an american citizen. Learn to deal with it.
