New Abortion Clinic in Albequerque, NM - Read, Cheer, Weep for Texas

??????I am Shardae Russell, Southwest Manager of Community Partnerships. I am really thrilled to share the news that our partner, Whole Woman's Health, has finally opened their clinic in Albuquerque New Mexico! Through all the hardships that Independent Abortion Providers have experienced in the past 9 months, this is definitely a ray of hope for anyone seeking abortion care across the Southwest.

Both Whole Woman's Health and us, Whole Woman's Health Alliance, were forced by extreme anti-abortion TX lawmakers and Supreme Court Justices to shutter four clinics combined last year. This has forced Texans to travel thousands of miles to obtain basic human healthcare. Our Minnesota clinic saw an exponential increase in patients specifically from Texas after the fall of Roe. Another sobering statistic that I would like to share with you is that of the 23 patients the Whole Woman's Health Clinic will see in it's first few days, 21 are from Texas.

Having another brick-and-mortar clinic to be able to work in partnership with and refer patients to from across the Southwest is a tremendous victory for abortion supports everywhere. For our part at WWHA, we have been working hard as well, making connections, joining coalitions and beginning to build bridges with the amazing Reproductive Justice organizations and fellow abortion clinics here.

We are truly excited for the next chapter in our efforts to expand our Community Partnerships & Advocacy work in New Mexico.
