Was watching the coverage of the Charleston shooting on CNN

And Don Lemon was discussing it with another gentleman. There was an African American woman in the background. and she was hollering "White people are terrorists" , "Barack Obama is an Uncle Tom" and "What do you have to say about that, Don?".
I can not imagine the place where that pain comes from but I pray that folks don't forget that people of good will and ill will come in all colors and we need to think about how we can keep guns out of the hands of people of ill will...If not for guns the Charleston shooter is just another racist with a drug habit and a bad hair cut.

My heroes when I was an eighth grade student in Deltona Junior High School were the martyred Kennedy brothers, Dr. King, and Muhammad Ali. They are still my heroes today and today this video I believe is fitting:

He could have done the same amount of damage with a bomb. A circle of kerosene and some matches.

I think we miss a big piece of America's racist reality if we blame this on guns.

That's going to take a long time to fix if ever...In the interim I wish these people didn't have such easy access to guns...

If someone wishes me ill I would even prefer they had their fists, a screwdriver,or even a knife, but not a gun.

Think of the prevalence of suicide bombers in the Middle East. Think of Timothy McVeigh. We are very lucky as a country that bombs have not become "popular".

To give a comparison, notice how desperate we are to manage nuclear bombs, but we give people in other countries guns all the time.

Everyone knows guns are much easier to get than bombs.

Who are you kidding but yourself?

And I'm going to add - if this is made into a 'gun debate' -

WE ARE NEVER GOING TO STOP THE RACIST ASSHOLES WHO KILL PEOPLE FOR WHAT THEY ARE.

I'm at maximum capacity of 'understanding'.

This has echoes of the Birmingham Bombing. It 'feels' like it - though there was a greater loss of lie.

Next up - strange fruit hanging from trees.

After that - a massacre of a mostly black town.

Enough.

Guns, ropes, machetes, bombs, tar, feather - don't give one damn.

It's racist bigoted assholes and we need to start fighting back. And we cannot rely on the government to help us.

Every Single One of 'THEM' benefits by not solving the problem.

And way over there on the right? Santorum is making this about jesus fucking Christ.

I - IS - PISSED.

I feel her pain. People in mourning say all kinds of things. But as to Don Lemon- he loves playing the respectable negro to all of us thugs. That's why she said that about Don. As for Obama, I know why he cannot say the things he probably wants to say, he has to weigh every word, everything he says is a part of history the second he says it. But Don, Don is not very well liked for good reason.

On Don. But, on the President, if he was half as strong in his statements regarding gun control and racism as he has been about the TPP and those that disagree with him, maybe we would be getting somewhere
