COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki's first injury rehab game at Triple-A Colorado Springs on Wednesday started glowingly, with a home run and a single off D-backs prospect Trevor Bauer, but it ended with more pain.
Tulowitzki pulled himself from the game after re-injuring his left groin -- a strain that has kept him out of action since May 30 -- and was headed back to Denver to be evaluated.
After the two-run homer to left field in his first at-bat and a single in the third inning in his second at-bat -- both against Reno's Bauer -- Tulowitzki pulled himself from the game and went to the home clubhouse at Security Service Field with a trainer. He was on base after the single and made a move toward second on teammate Andrew Brown's fly ball but did not take the base, then he left the game.
