Manny Ramirez*, Vladimir Guerrero, released from minor league contracts

Both players requested their release. Ramirez, hitting .371 in the past nine games in AAA, hadn't shown enough pop at the plate, according to scouts (yet Oakland is batting .226 as a team). I think Manny showed remarkable grace upon his exit (read the article).

Guerrero, age 37, was hitting.358 with four homers and 12 RBIs in 12 minor league games in the Blue jays organization. He was granted release on June 12th. Wouldn't be surprised if an AL team signed him.
