Bonds and Clemens kept out of the HOF again. What are your thoughts?

Mine? They should be in. Yes, they cheated, but they did so to extend their careers. Their non-steroid years warrant their entry. Also, steroids do not make you a great pitcher or hitter.

as long as there's an asterisk by their name at the exhibit indicating that they are steroid cheats.

I also think it's important to note that steroids may not "make you a great pitcher or hitter," PEDs enhance performance and that difference can be significant. Why would they run the risk of flouting the rules and being penalized if there wasn't substantial gains from taking the drugs?

To extend their careers. Maintain their production as they aged.

make them swing and throw faster, make them hit harder. It's all against the rules, yet they chose to ignore the rules. If they are enshrined in the HoF, it should be made clear that "the clear" is part of their stories.

The steroids era is in (Bud Selig), HOF has lost the right to keep the players out in my mind.

IMO, a broader perspective on this issue historically really makes keeping these guys out seem hypocritical.

Greg Maddux never had to use steriods to be the first ballet hall of famer he is...nor did Tom Glavine or John Smoltz. I could go on with some of the hitters, but the point is the same: there are phenomenal players in the hof who didn't break the rules, and it would cheapen their legacy.

Which non-steroid years exactly?
Exactly which part of their numbers were pre-juice?
McGwire was a skinny kid right out of college and hit 49 his rookie year.
When people found out about andro they freaked out!
You sure Bonds & Clemens were always clean before they started megadosing?
