The Kim Mulkey Way - LSU's coach - long and long awaited WaPo article on her. No Paywall

The Kim Mulkey way
The LSU coach holds grudges, battles everyone — and keeps winning. But at what cost?

I didn’t find this too tough or inflammatory towards her. She’s tough, driven, demands complete loyalty, and never apologizes.

This piece starts and mostly ends with her father. He loved sports and took the land his father left him and turned it into a sports playground. He also cheated on and divorced her mother. They haven’t spoken in 37 years.

This details how great a player Mulkey was at La. Tech. Her rise in the coaching ranks and her relationships with her coaches/mentors.

Mulkey coaches but doesn’t mentor. She drives players relentless and with positive results. She also has complicated relationships with players and former players many who happen to be gay. The article gives stories that support Mulkey and don’t support her. Her relationship with Brittany Griner is but one part of this story.

No one from LSU spoke with The Post. Mulkey has threatened a defamation lawsuit in recent press conferences.

I'll be taking a pass on both teams from red red red states. I love all sports but this one is asking too much
