The Golfer Who Can't Stop Winning

Scottie Scheffler is on an epic tear through the golf world. He just won the Masters and then won his very next tournament, giving him four wins in his last five events. In the only one he didn’t win, he finished second.

Nobody on the PGA Tour has been hotter since prime Tiger Woods. But somehow, Scheffler isn’t the most unstoppable golfer on the planet these days.

That would be Nelly Korda.

On Sunday, Korda won the Chevron Championship, the first major of the LPGA Tour season and the second of her career, giving the 25-year-old American wins in five consecutive starts and putting her in rarefied company. The run matches the LPGA record held by all-time great Annika Sorenstam (2004-05) and Nancy Lopez, who became a national sensation when she first accomplished the feat as a rookie in 1978.

Now it’s Korda’s time, and this isn’t just any hot streak. Finally healthy again after injury, Korda is capitalizing on her potential to completely dominate the sport.

Her brother Sebastian (pro tennis player) has some catching up to do. I love his game and hope he has a breakthrough soon.

Their sister Jessica is also a pro golfer.

Their father Petr won the Australian Open in tennis and made it to #2 in the world.

Mother Regina was also a tennis pro and played in the Olympics.

There's a little talent in the family.

She hurt her back and took months of '23 off for rehab.
Then, she had a baby in February. Her time away was declared (by her) as "indefinite".
She's still young enough to come back when the daughter is a bit older, I suppose.
Nellie is describing it as her "auntie phase" of life.
Nellie always had "it". No real weakness in her game. But, her body kept letting her down.
Now, she's healthy & confident. Obviously, it shows in the results.

"And my buddies told me this morning my victory was secure on the cross. And that's a pretty special feeling to know that I'm secure for forever and it doesn't matter if I win this tournament or lose this tournament. My identity is secure for forever."

Two players on two different tours dominating like this?
Even Annika & Tiger didn't have their greatest years in the same 3 month period.
And Sheffler was a pulled 5 footer from a playoff for 5 in a row.
It's already amazing, but can you imagine if both were on 5 win streaks at the same time.
