Hot Stove League

Hi,

The Astros have won the World Series & I am still in shock. Sports Illustrated predicted this 3 years ago, almost tongue in check, but none the less, they got it right.

The Pundits are calling the Astros the team of the future, but we have heard that before, since the Cubs were picked to repeat last year.

The Last repeat ! Yankees-98, 99, 2000.

Where is Joe Torre when you need him.

Go Astros !!!!!

all of the Dodgers (and Yankees) fans, especially the obnoxious ones, became after we won. Not even any analysis posts, whether of the Astros or of their home team.

I guess they don't like how a team "nobody cares about" won anyway

Hi.

There are so many of us that have been waiting since we saw our first MLB game when they were the Colt 45's. I pulled out the way back machine today & found the program from that night that I have kept all these years. Yes the Dodgers were in town & I remember Koufax pitching that night with his unique delivery.

I was able to get 2 autographs on the program that night before the game. A rookie named Jim Wynn & pitcher Ken Johnson before he lost that no hitter. I ordered my WS champs cap today, I hope it arrives soon. GO ASTROS !!!!!

The Red Sox are paying his salary minus that major league minimum*. So the Giants can bring Sandoval into camp and if he looks like he can produce, he will have a bench role on the 25-man roster. If he doesn't look good in spring training, the Giants can cut him with no penalty whatsoever.

Say what you want about him, but he is entertaining to watch:

* Major league minimum salary is $507,500, so the Giants will be paying him $3,000 a game to sit on the bench and eat empanadas.
