***** 2011 Holiday 'ASAH Marketplace' Thread *****

(This information was moved from the identically-named thread that was started at DU2. I will be recreating each offering that currently exists in that thread so this thread also contains that information. Please feel free to add new information.)

We have received permission from Skinner to have one thread in this group during the holidays where we can post things that would normally be restricted to the DU Marketplace. (We have also received permission to do this throughout the year, so after the holidays, we can start another active thread.)

Please post in this thread if you have products and/or services that you would like to make known to the people in this group. Please feel free to post images, but please try to keep them smaller so that people who have slower connections can also view the thread without too much delay.

If you are concerned about your real name being associated with your website, etc., please feel free to ask either OneGrassRoot or me to post the information for you.

We need to keep this thread as uncluttered as possible to make it easy for people to find what is being offered. Therefore, if you have questions or comments about anything posted, please handle them via DU private messages with the poster rather than posting them in this thread. If OneGrassRoot or I posted it for the person, we can connect the person with questions with the person offering the products/services.

If you post products or services in the thread, please feel free to respond to your own post to add additional information, offerings, clarifications, etc.

Please do not feel pressured to either buy or sell. It's strictly for those who are interested.

Finally, I have added a post that will allow us to respond to that post if we want to kick the thread. That will keep all kicks in one area to also help keep the thread uncluttered. Please respond to that post to kick the thread if you feel that it needs to be kicked.

3. Re-posting for yellerpup: "Weep" my new novel now on Amazon!

If you are a member of a book club, know people who are interested in Native American history, have friend who is part Cherokee, ever wondered what it takes to join the tribe, or if you know someone who loves horses or have ever dreamed of going on a trail ride, please recommend “Weep” to them and share the link.

Synopsis: In Cherokee legend it is said that at the beginning of the world people and animals spoke and understood each other's languages. "Weep" is a story about a woman whose life changes after just such an encounter with a carriage horse in Central Park. The full novel is available on Amazon.com in paperback and on Kindle. A free app is available as well for Kindle.

Reviews of “Weep”

Vicki Mooney, the author of WEEP, has created an enchanting tribute to her Cherokee roots. And weep I did as she led me, page by page into the lives of her characters who are so warm and true, so believable that as I read, cried and laughed, I came to feel that I was part of this loving family. The many surprises--unexpected twists and turns in the plot, makes this an engaging page-turner. I loved this book. And you will, too.

Billie Letts, Author
“Where the Heart Is”, “Honk & Holler Opening Soon”, “Shoot the Moon”, “Made in the USA”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have known Vicki Mooney for almost 30 years and have seen her grow as a person and a writer. We spoke so many times about her desire to find her ancestry in the Cherokee tribe, which has now become a reality. She has always known she was a Native and she can now along with all other tribal members, prove her heritage. "Weep" is a story of the tragic forced walk to Oklahoma known as the "Trail of Tears" and how this family was affected both then and in the present. You can feel the heartache, fear and trepidation that our ancestors felt being pushed to this new land. This is a great story that belongs on your bookshelf beside all of our outstanding Native writers.

J.R. Mathews, President
Native American Productions
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

An uplifting first novel by Vicki Lynn Mooney about an
urban woman who returns to her birthplace in Oklahoma and follows a trail of
tears and laughter in her quest for love and identity as a member of her
Cherokee family. With her intimate knowledge of the people and the place,
the author takes us into the heart of this unique community. A great debut!

Tom Milton, Author

Wado (thanks) for your remarkable work… Weep is exceptional!”

Roy Hamilton, Director – Cherokee Arts and Humanities Council
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As I read this wonderful book, I was drawn into a world of the Cherokee Tribe and the strong people who made the terrible trip on the Trail of Tears. The story is written by a Cherokee woman about her ancestors who made this trip, some survived, some didn't. The book draws you in as the author goes back in time and brings you up to the future flawlessly. Some of the descriptions of the things that happened 100 years ago are described so realistically, it is hard to believe the author hasn't actually experienced those things. The characters are compelling, interesting, engaging; and the book is intelligently written by a very talented woman. The research on her bloodline is remarkable. A must read. I hope you buy it.

that I sell... I like this line a lot and use most of these products - some of them for over a year.

I like the laundry ball (on sale) as I can use that alone for 1000 loads. The laundry soap offered thru this is great too.

The dish soap on sale lasts me about 1 month 1/2 to 2 months and we hand wash our dishes so that's every day usage. The dish soap doesn't have any lauryl sulphate and I like the verbena scent.

My favorite product (not on sale) is the all-in-one clay kit. Lasts a long time and can replace a lot of the items under your sink. Great on stainless steel, granite counter tops, glass shower doors, really any hard surface.

There are (3) three product lines: Home care, personal wellness, and fragrance.
All natural, some organic and all certified thru several orgs.
Call me or email me for more information (info at link)

Order thru the 'Shop Now' tab at link. All shipping is a standard $9.95 no matter the weight.

(Note from IHAD: rucognizant originally posted this in a separate, stand-alone thread before the original DU2 thread was created. I'm including it here so her offering is not overlooked. The remainder of this post is from her original post.)

I am selling a lovely calendar with 12 - 8/12" x 11" pages, loose not bound, the print on archival, heavy paper, suitable for framing, just trim the top half off from the date part....... I have been doing this for 5 years, but due to the extreme situation, I am expanding my exposure as broadly as I can.

It is $20. + $3.00 for shipping, another $5.00 if you want a free standing plexi frame to display the page of the month, on the desktop. Here is a picture of the back page with all 12 months. There will be a 13th print, a full 8 1/2 x 11" of the painting I am just finishing............PM me (rucognizant) if interested.

8. Re-posting for wickfordbard: Magical 12 Days of Christmas Reading - Cathy Pagano, Jungian Astrologer
Sun Dec 11, 2011, 05:21 PM
Dec 2011
(Note from IHAD: I originally posted this for wickfordbard on DU2.)

A Magical 12 Days of Christmas Reading with Cathy Pagano, Jungian Astrologer

With the Holiday season upon us, our thoughts turn to the question, “What can I buy (my lover, my friend, my child, my co-worker, etc) this year?” Tired of even thinking about it?

This holiday why not give a gift that’s not only fun but also helpful. Why not give yourself and/or your Loved Ones the gift of Insight? Cathy’s holiday readings can provide valuable insights into your life in 2012 during the magical 12 Days of Christmas.

The 12 Days of Christmas are the festive days from December 26 to January 6, a symbolic time out of time when the veils between worlds are thin and we can peer into the future year. This is a perfect time to give the gift of ‘magic’ to those you love!

Each of the 12 days represents one of the astrological months, beginning with Aries on the December 26th and ending with Pisces on January 6th. This season is known as a time for prophetic dreams as well as great days to ‘read’ what’s in store for you in the coming year.

Each day resonates with the energies of a specific astrological month, making it a most auspicious time to have a reading done for your Sun Sign. I will be booking readings for each Sun sign as follows:

Aries – Dec. 26
Taurus – Dec. 27
Gemini – Dec. 28
Cancer – Dec. 29
Leo – Dec. 30
Virgo – Dec. 31
Libra - Jan. 1
Scorpio – Jan. 2
Sagittarius – Jan. 3
Capricorn – Jan. 4
Aquarius – Jan. 5
Pisces - Jan. 6

Cathy’s “12 Days of Christmas” readings cost $35 for ½ hour. Readings are over the phone and will be recorded and sent to you as an mp3 via email. This is a great gift idea for friends and family as well as for yourself!

Once you buy your reading, we’ll set up an appointment for your astrological Sun Sign day. If you are buying a reading for someone else, you might consider gifting them with it on Winter Solstice so the Aries, Taurus’, and Geminis can sign up for their readings in time for their day.

Appointments are limited each day, so don’t wait. See link at the bottom of this post to buy your reading and set up an appointment now.

Warmest holiday greetings,
Cathy Pagano

Hi, friends

1. Below is a link to my CafePress store that has this message imprinted on a multitude of items. (Have you seen all the stuff CafePress offers now?)

There's something for everyone. I wanted something inspiring -- a call to action -- for 2012, and so created this myself. 2012 is the year for us to come together, and do better. It's time.

If you know of any groups which may resonate with this message and who may have an interest in selling t-shirts or other merchandise for their own fundraising needs, please have them contact me. I can customize the t-shirts and other items to include their organization name and/or website, for example, with volume orders. I have several screenprinting companies in mind that I would love to work with for such orders, as they train and employ special-needs persons and people in at-risk populations. I would would enjoy working with other groups and organizations to spread this message.

If there is an item you'd like but don't see it, please let me know.

2. Below is a link to two books for which I was consulting editor. They're available on Amazon (and in Kindle format, as well as at smashwords for other e-book formats). A description and video for each book, with links to their Amazon page, are at this link: http://sandracarringtonsmith.com/my-books (Some of you may remember Sandra? The link is to her website.)

I've been sewing purses, semi obsessively for almost a year.

Have been joking that I've such an embarrassment of riches when it comes to fabric, that it might smother me in my tiny yurt if I don't sculpt some of it into one form or another.

They are mostly smallish in square, triangular, and an odd five sided shape that my mum said looks like bikini bottoms. I said, yeah for large women, they're more like bloomer bottoms."

Over the last 7 months or so, I've been installing secret pockets under the flap of the inner pockets (generally the size of cell phones), I've been joking that I may embroider them with "I love the TSA," just to see if they'd notice and to dispel a few potential airport snafus.

The initial idea was to ask people to tell me three colors that they find especially nourishing right now, and try to find prints that suits their request. The most challenging one thus far was Burgundy, tangerine, and turquoise. That came from a really passionate jeweler.

So their custom made and one of a kind.

I'll try to get some photo's up soon.

Oh yeah, I also do readings tarot & astrology readings over the phone.

They are great gifts for those who have enough stuff but very little direction in these transitional times.

Rates are always scaled in accordance to means.

Happy FestivasEclipseSolsticeChristmasHannakaKwanzaaGeorgianCalendarNewYear !!! not necessarily in that order.

Let's make this coming year far better than all our wondrously wildly inspired imaginings and blow the minds of all those unenlightened prognostications of the dementors of doom.

This has been rolling around the "intertubes" for a while yet I still really like it.

Dec 2011

I didn't want to post these because I didn't exactly see them as Christmas gifts, but I did want people to know about them.

Actually, I have 2 sets of books -- my own:

How to Cure a Cold http://amzn.com/1463773447 and

How to Remove Warts, Moles and Skin tags http://amzn.to/txmUQj

and then I have the liquidation of my personal library, which I hope people will check now and then because it's only just begun and I will have a LOT of books of potential interest to members here including some astrology books. http://tinyurl.com/cqnel7h

(At this exact moment, it looks like there is only one book actually available with 16 others not available. Part of that is because I was using Fulfillment by Amazon and decided the other day that was too expensive so asked for all my inventory back. The "not available" were already sold. I expect to be listing quite a few more today, and as much as I can going forward, so check back.

BTW, if you want to know the story behind the liquidation, here it is: http://tinyurl.com/85293mv

26. Finally! I have something resembling a web presence for my harp music.
Mon Jan 16, 2012, 09:13 PM
Jan 2012
http://claycliffparrotparty.com/harp/

It's still got a ways to go - I need to write a bio for instance - but I'm finally comfortable enough with it to show to people outside of those I know very well.

I had a bit of a personal meltdown last Spring, followed a couple months later by a lifelong dream come true (being a wandering minstrel at a medieval festival.) Since then I've thrown about everything I've got into following my heart, which by and large has meant sitting on the sidewalk downtown playing my harp and hoping that people are feeling generous. Now that the cold weather is here I have to take it to the next level: seeking out paid gigs indoors and such; resuming my studies to become a certified clinical musician; developing a presence on the internet.

So, please have a look at my fledgling website, download some music, and make a donation if you like and are able.

(does anyone here have any experience using paypal's payment buttons? Paypal won't let me test it using my card that's linked with my account, and it being the only card that I have. So I'm a little paranoid that it won't work. I hope I'm just being silly.)
