'Gamechanger' in the treatment of type two diabetes

25 January 2019 at 6:51am

Researchers hope that healthy people's gut bacteria could prove to be the secret weapon in tackling the twin epidemics of obesity and diabetes.

A research trial will see microscopic organisms harvested healthy volunteers and transplanted into the bowels of people with Type 2 diabetes who are also obese.

They say this has the potential to be a global game-changer by leading to weight loss and even to some diabetics being able to stop taking medication -saving the UK billions of pounds in healthcare costs.

Researchers are recruiting 30 people with Type 2 diabetes and obesity. Swansea University, meanwhile, is providing 30 healthy donors and ABMU is funding the research with a £40,000 grant.

Keto Diet.

You didn't know?

Its not bacteria its carbs causing insulin resistance and fat storage.

I used to be a Type II Diabetic.

Now under 200 lbs and not diabetic any more.

Eggs cheese meat macadamia nuts salads and avacados.

Better for you than flour sugar and fructose. Deadly poisons.

Type II has already been cured....

It is well-known that dietary changes and exercise can help many patients get their Type II under control, many to the point of not needing to take medications, but it still requires those patients to continue their diet and exercise to maintain control. It is similar to cancer in that it isn't cured merely put into remission with higher confidence over longer periods of time that the disease symptoms don't reemerge. Unless you've found a way to change the genetic structure in every cell of your body and grew yourself a new pancreas no, you are not cured. You're doing well controlling it, but you're not cured of it. Don't fall into a false sense of security. Just keep up the good work you've down thus far.

"Unless you've found a way to change the genetic structure in every cell of your body"

I / we have.

Stop bombarding them / cells with excessive insulin caused by eating WAY TOO MANY carbs.

No carbs, no insulin, no diabeses.

Anti-freeze poisoning cured. Stop drinking anti-freeze.

Again, control =/= cure. Your efforts are not some sort of secret being hidden by the Big Pharma-Diabetes industry or whatever, they're well-known treatment options that work for a segment of the population that have the disease to control it, some to the point of not needing assistance from medications but ever-requiring diligence in adhering to the treatment regiment. It is not a cure and no legitimate medical professional will claim it as such.

and I need less insulin. Perhaps if I could keep that up for a few months I would need no insulin at all.

But when I resort to my 'regular' eating habits, it only takes about 2 days before my insulin resistance is back where it was before.

What you are doing is great, but it's not a cure. If you and a healthy friend both switch to a high carb diet for a couple of weeks, you will again be diabetic, but she will not.
