also , remembered a old forecasting rule , it always snows on the back end of a storm, or hails . we had both.!!!!!!

in Mariposa. Doesn't snow in the valley. Where'd you get that rule of thumb?

Originated in New England, where that makes perfect sense.

In Mass, the snow would turn to sleet as the storm approached the ocean, and then freeze early and late night.
