2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumGod Help Me. I feel dirty. I got Santorum all over my hands this morning.
Ick. I hope it was the right thing to do. A lot of people were promoting it.
Skinner even posted his support for the idea of voting for Santorum on a thread yesterday, and I trust Skinner. Skinner is good, Skinner is wise.
FWIW, I was at my precinct just before 8:00 this morning. I was the 16th total voter, and the 15th to request a Republican ballot. The two little old ladies passing out the ballots had a lengthy discussion of why I had ballot # R-00015, but I was the 16th voter. The one just couldn't get it through her head for a minute that one person had used ballot # D-00001.
I hope this gambit works -- sure creeps me out to do this.

(2,208 posts)What if, by some strange happenstance, Santorum actually finds himself in the Oval next year?
You helped!
Probably won't happen, but you never know.
Sorry...

(2,208 posts)Just like I was sure that there was now way that Bedtime for Bonzo guy was actually gonna get elected. What a joker that washed up old actor was!
Or the idiot son of that one-term fascist who was Bonzo's VP.
No way was he gonna beat the sitting VP, even if that guy was a little wooden.
And he didn't beat the sitting VP, but ended up in the Oval anyway...

(6,581 posts)It is definitely a gamble. I voted for Rick Snyder in the 2010 R primary for the same purpose and due to the same circumstances, since there was only one D running on our side.
It's gambling, and that involves risk. Fools are often burnt, I just hope I don't fall into that category this time.

(4,186 posts)They seemed a bit lonely, the poll workers... The Democratic ballot stack looked a bit larger than the Republican stack-- in a very blue low income area.I wont tell you the numbers but based on the sequential ballot numbers and the number on the tabulating machine it looked like 90% of the ballots used were Republican..
Frothy got one more..and after hearing Romney whine about Dem votes..he seems to know he won't get those votes.. I feel better.

(7,968 posts)So far I don't have an Santorum on my hands but I may feel compelled before the day ends... What do you think. I was hoping it wasn't close then I wouldn't have bothered but it looks like it may be a 1000 votes or less...
