(1,078 posts)Wouldn't Guccifer's claim that he hacked into Clinton's server be an "utterance against self interest" (or however prosecuters/lawyers put in) and carry more weight than almost anything else a criminal would claim?
I see plenty of Hillary's supporters saying "but he's a criminal, we can't take him at his word". On most things, yes they'ld have a point. But a guy in jail for hacking, confesses and says "I hacked even more than you thought". I kinda take him seriously. A sane person isn't going to open themselves to more years in jail just to brag.

The way security rules and laws seem to be written, no damage to US interest is necessary for a person to be in violation.
