2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumHere's an idea: if Bernie Sanders is going to keep saying he's a better canddate against Trump...
...maybe he could spend the nxt month campaigning against Trump and show us how he'll do it (instead of cntinuing to beat up on Clinton)

Would have been good for him and .... imo.... bad for Clinton.
That's still true... though probably less so now.

(42,862 posts)Not that it's going to change anything at this late date. I'm sure the personal insults and attacks like that will continue, but Bernie will still not be the nominee.

(7,299 posts)Whenever a global economic shift outside of the control of the average American has appeared throughout our history, politicians suddenly appear to exploit that anxiety offering promises they know they can't keep. In the final analysis, there is very little difference between someone who makes the general claim that he will make America great again without offering any detail and a guy that promises an agenda that he knows will not be allowed to see the light of day in our Legislative Branch. They are both pandering and exploiting anxiety.

Telling California, West Virginia, Oregon, et al that you don't care about their votes is not very democratic (though it may be very Democratic).

(1,884 posts)The Republicans are working on a way to replace Trump. If they do, then what? That very well could be two more mistakes by the Hillery camp right there. One for sure.

(35,619 posts)Sanders concluded that section of the speech by saying that Donald Trump is a bigot who will lose because "Love trumps hatred." The crowd responded by chanting, "Love trumps hate."
