2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumReid urges Sanders to condemn violence in Nevada
Reid made sure that Sanders was aware of just how ugly things got including incidents of chair throwing and expects his colleague will condemn the violence soon.
He and I had a very long conversation, Reid told reporters. I laid out to him what happened in Las Vegas. I wanted to make sure he understands what went on there, the violence and all the other bad things that have happened there.
He said that he condemns that. Im confident he does. Im confident hell be saying something about it soon, added the Senate leader, who endorsed Hillary Clinton for president after she won the Nevada caucuses in February. Im hopeful and very confident that Sen. Sanders will do the right thing.

Harry Reid seems to think he was able to talk some sense into Bernie. Hopefully he's right, and Sanders will condemn the actions of his delegates, and apologize for that delusional press release he put out.

(4,311 posts)I think it's very damaging if Bernie does not say something about this. Violence has no place in politics.

(7,318 posts)He, nor anyone else, has produced any evidence that violence occured at the convention. Many, many videos of the convention are on the net, including a series of them that captured tbe proceedings from start to finish. None show any violence. PERIOD.
The real story is the undermining of democracy by the Clinton camp at that convention. The corruption is voiced in detail by Roberta Lange in video after video of the Nevada State Convention. They are all available on Youtube now.
The most egregiously corrupt part of that whole convention was when the Chair created a "temporary" rule to make the results of all the delegate voting at the County Convention level in NV null and void because it didn't favor the chair's candidate.
That "temporary" rule is very reminiscent of the Bush v Gore SCOTUS decision in 4 ways:
1. The court, like the Chair above made the ruling to "elect" their candidate;
2. The two rulings were deemed "temporary" and not to be used in any other decision;
3. The corrupt decisions were openly displayed to the whole world in all their naked guile and
4. Both are unprecedented in the history of the US.
Unprecedented.
No other State Dem Party has ever declared the legitimately arrived at delegate counts of their 2nd tier convention to be null and void and to instead use the delegate count from the caucuses because it favored their candidate.

(1,065 posts)No, no violence. You have an actual Hillary supporter that was arrested for punching a woman who was Bernie supporter. THAT'S VIOLENCE.
Only thing there was disfranchised voters that were angry, FOR good reason.
Look at all the videos, no violence. Maybe harsh words. THAT'S IT.
But let me make it clear. Violence is WHEN someone actually HURTS someone, like that Hillary supporter

(46,585 posts)Jon Ralston / USA Today (February 20, 2016):
Clinton voters bused in to caucus w/o registering:
Theyre going to do the count. Theyre all going to be part of the count, anther woman can be heard saying in reply.
But theyre not registered, a man says.
They will register after this, the woman can be heard saying.
Clinton supports caught BREAKING the rules, Porter writes in the video description. This just happened at caucus location in Nevada. Hillary supporters were not registering to caucus, which is NOT allowed by the Democratic Party.

(7,318 posts)Not a single incidence of violence can be found on any of the dozens of videos of the convention. And the convention was filmed all the way through.
This rumor was started by a reporter who supports Clinton and he hadn't produced any evidence for what he said.

(7,318 posts)That reporter has produced zero evidence of his claim and there are dozens of videos of the convention out there. Not a single one shows any violence.
At this point, lacking any evidence, this claim of violence can only be found to be false.
This poorly researched claim from a single reporter (who is a Hillary Shill), and and its repeating, sans evidence, throughout the main stream media, is very reminiscent of what Capehart did. Capehart's claim that it wasn't Bernie Sanders in the photo of the university student's protest over housing discrimination on campus in Chicago was printed in all the big media too.... and proven to be absolutely false. The media all had egg on their face. That's what happens when we no longer have a robust '4th estate' in the US.

(2,280 posts)And because none of them ever gather facts for themselves. Not the NYT or AP or any of the others.
And obviously Jon Ralston is part of the conspiracy. It goes without saying.
You see, it's a very very big conspiracy. Really, other than the people throwing chairs or calling in death threats, everyone else is part of the conspiracy.
JimDandy
(7,318 posts)source without any corroborating evidence.
If they had evidence, such as photos, videos, eyewitness reports those media outlets would have produced it.
How embarrassing for Rachel Maddow that she sunk to showing stock footage of chairs thrown around at some other event, because she had nothing else.
If you have proof of violence at the convention, please produce it. You would be the HERO of the HillBill Camp if you could.

(2,280 posts)It's so convenient to have a conspiracy theory to blame all those pesky facts that you don't like on, I can see why the Bernie crowd relies on it so much.

(12,958 posts)AND zero evidence exists. This is because Hillary supporters made the whole thing up to cover up the cheating done in their candidates name by the Nevada Democratic party.

(2,280 posts)But I get it, David Brock just made a couple phone calls and got all those journals to publish false stories. There's nothing that the conspiracy theory can't take care of.

The "violence" meme is a coordinated attempt to cover up election theft and try to finish off Bernie Sanders by demonizing his supporters.
The Hillary campaign is getting very nervous.

(2,065 posts)I don't understand what Bernie, himself, is supposed to do about what happened? Bernie didn't do it. He released a letter saying that he doesn't condone violence. What else is he expected to do? Gravel? Beg forgiveness for something that he didn't do?
