Related: About this forumMaddow: "EEEK!! Bernie's going to destroy the Democratic Party."
She is beside herself that Sanders had the audacity actually "running to win",
rather than simply running a "protest campaign" and calling it good.
But wait, now she's saying Sanders supporters are "violent" and planning to
disrupt the convention and irreparably split the Party with mass civil "defiance"
and disobedience.
Man, Rachael is getting harder to watch every day. The M$M lies about "violence"
at the NV convention have been debunked, yet the lies continue.

But we also know the front-runner is under a criminal investigation. We want Bernie in the catbird's seat should the party try to seat some other right-wing "Democrat" if Hillary has to bow out.
We know the score. Really we do.
And, we don't want him to drop out. We're still sending in donations and attending his rallies by the train loads.

Like I emailed her, life is not all brains, her being a Rhodes Scholar and all. But life requires BOTH heart and mind. Neither one in itself is enough. It's important to be smart, but EQUALLY important to be awake inside. The Democratic Party is already split. It has nothing to do with Bernie. It has to do with the fact that Hillary represents the pro-corporate, neoliberal wing of the party that many Boomers and Gen Xers have begun to reject and Millennials never liked.

(521 posts)Sanders has no chance of winning. He's behind nearly 300 pledged delegates, 3 million votes, and contests won. He has no chance to make up that deficit, which is why he wants to plead to the unpledged delegetates (aka superdelegates) to flip to him, as a last resort, except the supers have always sided with the candidate with the most pledged delegates. Also, after last weekend and Sanders' vow to contest the DNC and his supporters threats to riot, I doubt ANY supers will switch now. In fact, one of Sanders' own supers jumped ship this week. I've seen several places where allegedly only 500-some people voted in Alaska when I know for a fact that at least 400 people showed up to caucus from my district alone. The caucus at West High School in Anchorage was so packed that the fire marshal showed up and sent some of the districts outside.
This has been the case for all the caucus states, most of which Bernie has won, and seriously skews the vote totals.

(8,175 posts)the fact that you are still trying to push this meme is pretty disgusting.
You show me your proof, and I'll show you mine.
Oh hell...you don't have any, so I'll show you mine anyway.
Jon Ralston, the dean of political reporting in Nevada, has spread nothing less than a pack of lies about what went down at the states Democratic convention on Saturday. And the fact averse oligarchic national media has run completely riot with the provable falsehoods. No chairs were thrown at the convention Saturday. As it turned out, Ralston finally admitted last night that he hadnt seen this himself but was relying especially on local reporter Andrew Davey. Davey first said he had still frames showing the chair throwing which he would publish. He has not produced the stills in question, but did retweet a still image of a chair held high that was initially posted on Reddit. I spoke with the person who posted it to Reddit and confirmed that it was grabbed from the video now widely seen which shows that other Sanders supporters quickly took away the chair in question. I asked Davey by Twitter if he still had photos to publish, then criticized him for retweeting the Reddit image instead. He blocked me. In spite of the fact that the whole thing was filmed live from multiple angles, the revolution will be periscoped as Ralston snarked on Twitter, no one has any images or video of even a single chair, let alone chairs plural, being thrown. And the Truth Averse Media has gone wild with Ralstons first class lying. The New York Times ran with Thrown chairs as its lede in an article headlined by the falsehood about death threats.Hours and hours after the woman who took and posted the original video showing the raised chair has offered to talk to any media that will listen, none have. Sanders supporters have now promised to donate $100 to Clintons campaign or vote for her in California if anyone can produce video evidence of the phantom chair throwing.
It wont happen.
And the murder of crows that pretends to be honest, unbiased journalists will continue on to the next trust-killing monstrosity.
http://www.counterpunch.org/2016/05/18/the-faux-fracas-in-nevada-how-a-reporters-pack-of-lies-ran-riot-in-the-fact-averse-media/
One person lifted up a chair. I did post a link to it in another thread...just can't find it right now. But they never threw the chair. Other people had them put it down and then hugged them. That is not violence, that is deescalation (by Bernie supporters) before violence can happen.
I must admit, my proof does not contain a video of chairs not being thrown, because as everyone knows, you cannot prove a negative.
It never fucking happened. But keep on spreading those lies.

That is anger. the guy was crying. It is not violence. Violence would involve throwing the chair or trying to hit someone with it.
He wasn't even near the person he was angry at, so there was NO threat. If the chair hadn't been taken away so quickly, things might have gotten ugly, but BERNIE SUPPORTERS stopped that from happening.

(15,679 posts)in a good way. The Party still has an opportunity to right the listing ship, but I frankly doubt it will.
Philly will definitely see ugly protests. Too late to reverse that. It's only a matter of how the establishment contains the protest element -- they will do everything they can to squash it for sure.
This was all so unnecessary. I put the blame on DWS and the DNC (corporatist) machine. They put all their eggs in Hillary's basket long ago ... and then ineptly went about controlling the outcome. If they hadn't been so nakedly obvious, things certainly wouldn't be as divisive as they are right now.
It strikes me that it is now too late. The damage is done. The Democratic Party is going the way of the GOP -- breaking in two.

Those who engage in this hyperbolic nonsense are only destroying what's left of their credibility, because with the internet, too many people know the real truth before they report it. When it doesn't match, these "journalists" are exposed for what they are.
They're the "I've got mine, screw you" crowd. There are lots of those around in every field. They're nothing special, just overpaid.
