2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumSanders supporters are greedy parasites.
They only donate to Sanders 'coz they expect freebies.
So sayeth wingnuts and Hillary's intrepid supporters.
Alternately, Evil Bernie is bleeding poor supporters dry and deceiving them.
I wish I had a dime for each time I've seen a supposed liberal parrot that crap.
I'd donate it to Bernie.
Now I'm off to donate another $100.
Thanks for the motivation.

(114,904 posts)I suppose you could call me a moocher as I live off a trust fund. You can probably deduce from that that I'm not supporting Sanders for "freebies".
Frankly, I find the new money greed of hillary and Bill declasse. Tacky.

(2,280 posts)Did the people yelling "bitch" in Nevada look like poverty-stricken to you? No. They were just disappointed that Phish didn't show up.
Still not sure what Jerry Garcia has to do with anything. Never was either a big dead fan or a phish fan, but whatever.

Personally I respect their considerable musical ability but I'm only lukewarm on them. Seen them maybe 10 times, starting in 1990 in a bar with about 200 people. (That one was fun)
I will say this, if the best you could come up with for the Dead was the studio version of touch of grey, you're not that much of a deadhead.
(and yes, that should be "stop" not "step"
YouDig
(2,280 posts)True deadheads scoff at Touch of Grey, and their studio stuff in general. They like to argue for hours about which version of Dark Star is the greatest ever.
What can I say, I like some of their live stuff, and I like some of their dreaded studio recordings, but never got super into the Jerry Garcia playing a 2 hour solo thing. I know plenty people who are, that's just me, and whatever that makes me is what I am.

(80,708 posts)I was there when it exemplified perfectly Jerry coming back from his coma. The energy was thick and electric and unmistakable.
But the catalog goes a lot deeper than that.
Greatest version of Dark Star- easy. 11/11/73.
At least, that's the one I like best right now.

(8,311 posts)... to donating between June 14th and November to Bernie if he's not the nominee, is that even if you want to help with his debt and have no intention of donating to Hillary if she is the nominee, that money could be used for downticket races.
But your money, your vote, your choice. And the primary isn't over yet.

Those dots do not connect.
I used to ridicule without mercy members Working Class who worked AGAINST their own financial interests by voting Republican. That was back when the Democratic Party actually supported the Working Class and acknowledged that there WERE Poor People in America.
My mother always warned me to never ridicule people because someday I will be standing in their shoes. Mom was right, because NOW, the Democratic Party wants ME to vote against my own financial interests by supporting Hillary.

Shame that people that are not IN the vampire class do not care enough about many of their friends, family, neighbors, even themselves sometimes to see that the propaganda narrative offered by the vampire class is utter tripe.

Weaver on the other hand....
Still, your money will go to air progressive messages and he employees a number of people. The ones I somewhat giggle at are the ones left in an emotional rage after reading one of Weavers shady emails. But their money is green and goes to a solid progressive message as well.

No fewer that four times, "oligarch" once, "possible" or "questionable" a minimum of six times....
They are directed and I agree with you that they are brilliant. They get more out of self generated crisis than anyone.

(2,145 posts)I've been using that since the nineties and when I delegated for Kucinich and voted Stein. Less than 60% of the electorate votes these days. Why? We want change. Real change. Weaver didn't invent, create or generate anything. Bernie in fact is piggy backing on what the people want. He recognizes it because he wants it too.
Bring back democracy. I'm tired of plutocracy/oligarchy which we might have to get used to because we've had it so long. It might be too late. Those words represent his candidacy. Parsing for points. That's all you are doing.

I will reply - no $$ included - with my explanation and a rant about DWS, her $300 loan shark buddies and rigged primaries
But it motivated me to send Bernie another $25
The DNC doesn't need my money, they have Wall Street

(56,582 posts)which is that Sanders has piggybacked on a party he has repeatedly said he doesn't respect or particularly want to be a part of, to give his Presidential run a better chance, and in return has kicked that party in the teeth.

It's called "quality of life". We used to have it for most people.
The "greedy parasites" are those who "got theirs" using our common resources, and now want to pull the ladder of opportunity up behind them.
They're only a big deal in their own minds, and they can fuck right off.
