Related: About this forumSanders campaign throws Tommy Chong under the bus.
ommy Chong is in disbelief after he was disinvited by the Bernie Sanders campaign from introducing the presidential hopeful hours before a rally in East Los Angeles.
The iconic comic actor and outspoken marijuana advocate tells The Hollywood Reporter that the Sanders campaign was happy to have his endorsement months back, but when it came time for the two men to appear in public together, someone got "cold feet," he says.
"It's lip service to get the votes, but they don't want to endorse what I stand for and what I've stood for all my professional career," Chong said right after he was uninvited to the rally. "It was an insult."
In a email to THR, a Sanders spokesman said, "We appreciate his support but a scheduling issue came up."

(81,900 posts)You dig deeper and deeper into your pit of silliness each time you post. Had he appeared with him, you would have had a post on that too. But still, you made me laugh. A Hillary supporter criticizing Sanders for NOT meeting with The Stoner Supreme Tommy Chong, who I have actually met. He's pretty cool. Snuck him a cheeseburger so his wife didn't know then got him some peppermint schnapps to cover up the cheeseburger on his breath.

(7,306 posts)I gave him crap for being "scared" of his wife and said, "You see how cool and hot she is? I'm not scared, man. I'm in love!" They really are, too. It's cute. Overall, he's pretty much a get what you see kinda guy.

(2,474 posts)Tommy is more than a marijuana advocate, he's a living example of how cruel and abusive government power can be.
I doubt he was thrown under the bus because of his position on pot.
The Sanders campaign answer is probably truthy enough. I'd bet this was just another example of how unprepared and disorganized the Sanders campaign is. Not a deliberate slight, just incompetence.
