2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumA clear, undeniable majority of Democratic voters in the primaries chose Hillary Clinton as their
nominee for president. She represents the will of the people.
If you cannot accept that, then that's your problem.

(47,803 posts)A lot of people prefer many of Sanders positions and agree with him, but have supported or voted for Clinton because they have accepted the meme that she's the most electable....or they want to elect a woman.
So it's not like a mandate for the Clintons to treat the Democratic Party as their own private fiefdom

(1,446 posts)This is nothing against Sanders, it is simply stating that Hillary won by every possible measure, and it is time for all of us to move on. No one is asking people to change their allegiance, just to accept reality.

(14,915 posts)she will not get my vote, doesn't mean I don't accept that, it just means that I am saddened at what the party has become, and what they had to do to get her into this position.

(325 posts)Maybe if she wins the nomination she will represent the will of a slight majority of one of the political parties in our country....?
Then again, she changes her mind on things a lot, and her views evolve often, so how can you be sure??

(35,455 posts)by 3 million+ votes.
Sivart
(325 posts)Close, but not close enough.
If she ends up winning, she will likely represent the will of NOT ALL democrats, but a slight majority of democrats. How much of a majority will have to wait until everyone has voted.
I think the problem is that you are pretending the Democrats who don't support Clinton don't exist, but they do.

That imperious bullshit is exactly what drives Bernie or Busters. Hope you enjoy President Trump.

(95,012 posts)Clintons popular vote margin over Sanders is anticipated to grow from 3 million to nearly 6 million after CA/NJ/NM/MT/ND/SD/PR/VI
But the good news is: if Sanders can win 100% of the remaining contests, they'll be tied, right?
