(4,311 posts)It can be used as in your phrase (or the usual version of your phrase) "my suspicion/interest is piqued", meaning aroused.
Or it can be used as in irritation: "He quit in a fit of pique", or similarly as a verb: "He was piqued by the man's rudeness", although that last usage is very rare these days.
Language is fun!

(26,342 posts)And you are right about language. The first time I went to England, the host asked me what time I'd like to be 'knocked up'. FORTUNATELY, I've always been pretty fluent in both English and American, so I knew he was asking about my preferred wake up time!
Kind of like knowing that people wear pants on the inside of their skirts, slacks or trousers.
