Der Drumpfenführer Spricht:

And he speaks at length, using a faux populist approach, to lay out what Americans should fear and who is responsible for all those fearsome things. It's all so familiar to students of history, but this time the enemies who have caused all that fear are liberals, Muslims, and Spanish-speaking immigrants. That's what he's selling.

Those are Trump's scapegoats. Those are who he will blame for everything wrong. Those are who he thinks Americans should hate.

It's an old story. As old as human society. Blame the "others" for perceived problems and unite a population through hatred and lies.

Sadly, it is used because it is more effective than it should be. Sadly, The Donald™ will gather followers with this approach. That is what we must fight between now and November. And he won't let up. Instead, he will renew his call to fear, loathing and blame at every opportunity.

We must not let him win! We must not.

The one person on the left that gets under the Talking Yam's thin skin the best is Elizabeth Warren. I do not give a shit about "prepared to be President" or "checking all the boxes"...the number one role of the VP is to be the attack dog for the ticket, to be the presence that unnerves the opponent and forces them to react in bad ways....

There is only one potential VP candidate that can do that...and it appears that Hillary Clinton is going to avoid tapping into that resource.

Pity.

We could have beaten the Trumpster Fire with a solid firebrand liberal on the ticket.

us to defeat Trump. It is up to Democrats to get out the vote and defeat that odious man at the polling place.

Who the VP candidate is will be irrelevant.

'Could have beaten'?

Pessimism is the last thing we need in our fight to beat Trump.

There are plenty of reasons not to pick Warren. Top 2 - no international experience in a time when foreign affairs are as important as domestic, and she's needed in the Senate.

"Lock her up!"?
"Hillary for Prison"?
The bloodlust in their chants and vitriol in their hearts?
The glazed over, frozen expressions of hate?

This is NOT a policy fight or a match-up to see who is the best prepared candidates.
This is being set up as an emotional fight - fear versus reason.

Hillary can wipe the floor with the Yam on policy, governing, everything actually important to being President...but the fight is NOT set up for rational argument. We need to have someone on the ticket that is a sliver in the Drumpf's skin...and irritant that he cannot give a pithy name and mock freely. Warren fits that bill far more than Kaine or Vilsack...so would Booker if he were not such a craven Wall Street shill.

Why the fuck would the Democrats give one-one-thousandth of a shit about claims the VP 'isn't ready' when the Trumpster Fire heading the opposition is not ready to be dog catcher? If we try to fight this on the grounds of rationality - like Gore did with Bush - this is going to be within the margin of error and rife for another stolen election...

work best. Lay it out, simply and clearly. Show what we'll get with Trump and how much better we'll do with Hillary. Point by point.

Get every minority voter and every woman in America to the polling place - every person who will be harmed by a Trump presidency. Show them the pain he will bring them.

Decisions are made based on emotion - the lizard brain prevails. That's why Trump's fear-based approach resonates with so many people. That's why the "daisy" ad was effective. And there's logic there, too: People should be afraid of a Trump presidency.

We need to use something positive, I think. The Republican Party preys on the fearful, and uses fear constantly. We won't succeed by copying that strategy.

We do need to make it clear that Trump will bring negative results for many, many people, but we can do that in a way that demonstrates why the Democratic candidate will do the exact opposite.

The Republicans will try to scare people plenty. We should try to show people new possibilities.

The key is going to be getting the disadvantaged and discouraged to the polls. A large turnout is our method. We need to convince people that voting for a Clinton administration is going to produce positive benefits for specific groups for which Trump will create more pain and disadvantage.

We can start with women, people of color and other groups and bring them to action. It should be a simple job.

While promising to single-handedly fix all the problems that Republicans either created or obstructed the fixing of. Not that anyone calling themselves leftist would ever think of voting for him, but in the meantime, Hillary campaign has moved move rightward with the VP pick.

And neither candidates was LBGTQ-friendly or talking about populist issues until it became politically expedient to do so.

So we all know that Trump's new-found faux populist rhetoric is just that...faux; so how do you think the Hillary campaign can convince the left that her populism is authentic?

But, we all need to help get voters to the polling places in November. That's our job. That's what I'll be doing. How about you?
