We Finally Have A Candidate That Speaks To ‘White Males,’ GOP Congressman Says

We Finally Have A Candidate That Speaks To ‘White Males,’ GOP Congressman Says

BY AARON RUPAR at Think Progress

"SNIP................

During a CNN interview this morning, Rep. Sean Duffy (R-WI) acknowledged the Trump phenomenon for what it is — identity politics for white men.

While opining about Trump’s RNC-closing speech, Duffy said, “There’s a viewpoint that says, ‘I can fight for minorities, and I can fight for women,’ and if you get that, you make up a vast majority of the voting block and you win. And white males have been left aside a little bit in the politics of who speaks to them.”

Duffy’s implication is that in Trump, white guys have finally found a candidate who speaks to their concerns.

Disclaimer: they DO matter, of course. I am married to a white man and I am very fond of him. But...yeah. They are not underrepresented.

Never hear him whining, he knows he has it good and is very grateful (if he wasn't, I would remind him on a regular basis).

Unless you count the first 42 (Grover Cleveland was sworn in twice). . But as #44 is a Black male, that makes it so anti-White men!

If he says that when you get minorities and women you win, and he's acknowledging Trump isn't making that argument...isn't this Republican Representative admitting that Trump is going to lose?

As they get rid of the less subtle stuff and go full on racist. I guess I need to have a pity party for myself since I am a white male and politicians never address their comments to me....uh...yeah right.

Peace

The point is that Trump, and increasingly the Republican party, has its base mostly - not entirely - among older, white males; people who built their world view in another era and who are disturbed that the world doesn't look like that anymore.

He seemed like a pretty chill guy then. At one point, he even performed a striptease for his roommates.

Still, another time he mooned the camera.

That was the infamous third season which featured Pedro Zamora and his homosexuality/AIDS struggle and eventual death during the season's run.

P.S. Yeah, the despicable Puck was on that season, too.
