2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumElizabeth Warren will deliver the Keynote Address tonight in primetime (just before Bernie)
Democrats are kicking off their convention with a primetime lineup of some of the party's biggest names. At least the biggest names who haven't served in the Oval Office.
Sen. Elizabeth Warren, who provided a quick endorsement of Hillary Clinton after she clinched the nomination in June, has been designated as the convention's keynote speaker, the Clinton campaign announced Monday.
The Massachusetts senator will address delegates here in Philadelphia just before Bernie Sanders, providing a powerful back-to-back dose of the party's best known progressive forces.
First up, in the 9 p.m. Eastern hour, will be Sen. Cory Booker, the popular New Jersey senator and social media denizen.
First Lady Michelle Obama will speak next, leading up to Warren.
The Clinton campaign is building the first night around a theme they describe as the former secretary of State's lifelong work on behalf of putting families first.

(15,951 posts)CBS, NBC, and ABC will provide live coverage starting at 10 pm EST--and according to this article Warren will speak first and then the final speaker of the night will be Bernie Sanders which is fine with me because more people will see his speech.

(42,862 posts)For me, those three are the ones who interest me the most and who excite me the most. How does that mean that I "hate" Bernie Sanders? Does my lack of interest in hearing him speak mean that I "hate" him?
You guys are really something else, ya know that?

(1,184 posts)Also, Warren is the personality to give the keynote address (the function of which is to set the tone and themes of the convention), though Bernie's speech is actually the story. We get the best of both worlds with them going tonight.
