All the "not Hillary" motherfuckers should get an escort out of the convention, post haste.

(7,113 posts)I posted the info as an exasperated response to this repeated claim by Bernie and followers.
I'm an avid fan of all the fact-checking services, and I've never seen them address this claim of Sanders'.

(28,348 posts)His supporters are primarily white; and I've too often heard whites refer to themselves as "the working people" as though the rest of us don't.
Rubs all my fur backwards.
Still waiting for him to talk about something other than himself, his campaign, his campaign speech. Still waiting for him to talk about our nominee and our Democratic ticket. He sounds like he thinks he is the nominee right now.
auntpurl
(4,311 posts)His regular stump speech. Nothing about Hillary or about the behaviour of his supporters.

(4,311 posts)his supporters' boorish behaviour so far at the convention. Booing Nancy Pelosi and Barbara Lee. Chanting LOCK HER UP at the California Delegates Breakfast. I think he should have addressed it directly and told them it was not appropriate and would not be tolerated.
Otherwise, it seemed fine.

(13,570 posts)NOT real Democrats nor real progressives. They are mega-radicals who won't accept reality nor reason. They are NUTS.
auntpurl
(4,311 posts)Which is that it looks like Hillary is going to be booed from the minute she walks on the stage until the minute she is hounded off. There is just no good f*cking way to spin this. The rest of the country will see a Democratic party that HATES their nominee. We could lose this election.
I didn't think that until today.
Red Knight
(704 posts)But that's the attitude destroying the party. I fear that this party won't "get it" until it's too late. And yes...I'm a REAL Democrat and will vote for Clinton. But voting for her is not what makes me a REAL Democrat. It's supporting certain ideals regardless of the candidate. It's staying true to that.
And voting for her is more about stopping Trump for me and many other Bernie supporters. Just accept that and move on. That's the best thing that can happen for this party. Just take a win. We don't have to love her.
auntpurl
(4,311 posts)I'd love to take a f*cking win! Unfortunately the MSM is currently showing the Democratic party as a complete and utter shit show, far worse than the RNC last week, and these selfish, selfish people could hand the election to Donald Trump. And then the WHOLE WORLD suffers. They can support their "ideals" and I'll wait to see if Putin invades the Balkan States and marches across Europe because Trump has pulled us out of NATO.
Red Knight
(704 posts)The election isn't today.
Give it some time. Venting and screaming are part of that process. No one can control that. They won't vote for her today. So what?
See what things look like in November. They still won't love her. They will probably vote for her.
auntpurl
(4,311 posts)I have got to calm down. I am living in terror at the moment. I said earlier today I should probably take a break from DU for a while. I think I might do that.
Thanks for perspective.
andym
(5,447 posts)But in an opposite way, creating an America of hatred and bigotry. Such an America has deep historical roots upon which to feed. Trump's election would completely impede Bernie's movement as well as make America terrible. Bernie understands that, many of his delegates don't seem to.
auntpurl
(4,311 posts)With 3-4 SC picks, a whole generation will lose their civil liberties and US politics will get more and more corrupt. The most vulnerable in our society will suffer the most under Trump. Bernie knows this. His "supporters" who are disrupting and destroying this convention have to be the most selfish people on earth.
andym
(5,447 posts)And what these forces can accomplish. The demonization and polarization that occurred during this primary are extremely counterproductive to defeating these forces.

Would I like a more progressive ticket - absolutely! Am I willing to "burn down the house" because that has not happened? No way! The consequences of a Trump WH will make all the Bernie Sander's supports complaints pale in comparison. We are in a fight for our lives over the future of this country. I would like to ask the die hard Sanders supporters - Just how do you propose to push a progressive agenda once Trump leaves this country (and perhaps the rest of the planet) in total shambles? Sometimes you just have to choose the path of pragmatism so that you still have a shot of creating change later on.
auntpurl
(4,311 posts)I genuinely cannot believe this. I am appalled, angry, and most of all frightened. We could lose this election. I didn't think that until today. I never thought anyone could be this selfish, to inflict Trump on the world and on the most vulnerable in society who will suffer the most.
