Just because a first-term Senator made it to the White House in 2008, doesn't mean it's a sure-fire ticket to the Oval Office. You have to hold out SOME kind of promise to improve things. Obama did, and in the face of a huge, well-financed and superbly-organized opposition. Neither Cruz nor Paul hold any promise of doing anything positive for the country. They are the kind of change no one in their right mind hopes for.
