Related: About this forumCould Rand Paul’s Incoherence be an Asset?
Marc Ambinder: As the press struggles to label him, Pauls plunge into the primaries has the potential to upconvert his opponents. His value to Republicans is that his final position on a number of issues cannot be predicted from his past statements. This is valuable, and not a knock against him, because his unpredictability will force the rest of the field to respond in real time to a politician who seems willing to change his mind.
Paul cant quite acknowledge his penchant for inconsistency, because theres a convention in politics that equates consistency with strength. But its perhaps his most genuine quality.

(17,217 posts)2. Yeah, it's called being an entitled asshole.
It's a trait he shares with many politicians, but it would appear he has it to a greater degree than some, or anyway that he expresses it to a greater degree.

(8,759 posts)3. Sure, why not? Chimpy McDumbass was inchoerent and people loved his "folksy" ways.
Remember, a lot of people voted for him because "you could have a beer with the guy"

I'd dump it on his forehead, tell him to get a haircut, flip him the bird, and leave.

(6,604 posts)4. Of course.
What percentage of American voters actually pay attention to what candidates actually say anymore?
And what percentage actually vote?
And what percentage of those are actually capable of critical thought?
This country is full of stupid.
