It is breaking down the issues hopefully in as neutral a fashion as possible and who supports positions on these and has worked for or against them in ways people can understand, or that people can learn more about them through discussion, we hopefully make it easier for people to know which candidate works bests to support them in the general election, and we don't slam the other in a way that will provide non-productive ammunition for the Republicans in a general election that hurts us all, even if it isn't our favorite candidate that gets nominated.

Even if it is looking at their past history, we should point out the actions that a candidate can take to correct problems or make them better equipped to deal with certain issues than perhaps they are on record for now, that would be a productive means of providing the candidate themselves ways to change their platform and actions to draw in more supporters from the American voter, and ultimately hoping doing the right things for all of us later. Then it will seem less that we are just engaged in personal attacks on a candidate but really trying to ensure that whoever gets elected does the right thing for us all.

IF it plays out like it looks on paper, it won't hurt her one bit.

If she somehow how loses, she isnt' beating the republicans in the general anways.

That said, and as someone who is leaning hard toward supporting and voting for Sanders, I would HOPE that the effort to elect him would be focused on the issues, his candidacy, policy, and not trying to tear Hillary down ... She remains the best shot at keeping the white house from republican control.

That said, I do agree about the point about the perfect candidate, and if people think even if Bernie can win it all, that magically changes things are living in a fantasy land.

Republicans DESTROY democrats, and the media inceasingly so over time goes along for that ride.

Carter, Bill, Hillary, Gore, Dean, Kerry ...

They don't take Bernie Sanders seriously, so they haven't focused on him to this point.

But, if he were to become a real threat to win the nomination, you will see things change A LOT with him from a framing perspective.

They WILL come after him.

Howard Dean was the chosen one about 10 years ago.

He had one brief moment of real, genuine emotion and his elected political career was effectively ended.

The media is about as worthless as the Republicans. If I had to order Oligarchs, the GOP, and the media from most worthless to least worthless, it would be a struggle to figure out just which one was the most useless, dangerous, cesspool of lies and deceit. It seems to be a 3-way tie at this point.

I would imagine the media leaned a bit toward the establishment prior to the 90s, but you saw the media actually pursue some bullshit the republican pulled up that point, like the Pentagon papers, watergate ...

In my life I have seen a de evolution where in the 90s, they willingly went along all the bullshit the right spewed, as well as all the bullshit they threw at Clinton.

THEN, with Bush II, they readily followed their orders to get the country into Iraq and breathlessly carried water on the HE IS KEEPING US SAFE and YOU CAN'T CRITICIZE THE COMMANDER IN CHIEF bullshit.

Post Bush, they have lost even trying to have a pretense of objectivity. They can't even hide their childlike enthusiasm in both attacking democrats and backing republicans.

But, again, IMO, it ins't the oligarchs, it isn't the pols it isn't even the media.

For me, it is "us" for willingly lapping up the bullshit and going along for the ride.

I think it goes all the way back to the Vietnam War. The media was instrumental in bringing the war into everyone's living room turning the public against the war. They realized that they couldn't push their corporate wars unless we were kept in the dark. They systematically began to buy up the media and now own it outright. I can't even watch the local news in the mornings anymore because every other story is about some new breakfast food McDonald's is pushing or what Dunkin Donuts is offering for a limited time. It's just nonsense start to finish. Corporate news.

I guess to sum up my point, elect as many people as we can and then ride them like the pony express until they deliver.

Just look at how Obama has attacked "the left" over the years...

If the Democratic Party didn't sell out over the years, there wouldn't be so much contention.

The Democratic Party isn't exactly a single-minded group of like individuals like the Republican Party. Will Rogers once said, "I am not a member of any organized political party. I am a Democrat." The inclusiveness, the diversity, the big tent are all characteristics of the Democrats while Republicans tend to be wealthy aristocrats and their lackeys and sycophants. As far as the Democrats go, it is just not possible to please all of the different interests that are encompassed in the party but at some point we all have to rally behind our representatives. Only by packing the legislative ranks can we dominate the agenda. There is just too much power on the other side but we have the numbers. Let's put those numbers to good use.
