http://calwolf.hubpages.com/hub/Why-Bernie-Sanders-is-Actually-the-Democrats-Best-General-Election-CandidateFirst, Sanders is winning on the issues. All data points to looming problems due to America's increasing income inequality. Social Security is in trouble. Our income and wealth are more unbalanced than any time since right before the Great Depression, with income inequality also having hit record highs in 1928. As the nation has clawed its way out of the Great Recession, almost all of the gains have gone to the top one percent of earners. Jobs are back, but they are not necessarily good jobs: America is seeing a surge in part-time employment that offers no salary, health insurance, retirement benefits, or even overtime pay.
These are the most pressing issues in the 2016 election cycle. The prevailing economic situation in the United States is unacceptable, and voters will demand change. Bernie Sanders offers comprehensive liberal change, but Hillary Clinton has remained stubbornly silent. This silence will hurt Clinton in a general election, where the Republican nominee can portray her as hesitant or, worse, a flip-flopper. Clinton's steady-on-the-tiller moderacy will make her easy prey for Republicans who do call for economic changes. In the absence of a liberal plan, moderates and independents may vote in favor of a conservative plan.
Bernie Sanders has demonstrated leadership by making decisions. Hillary Clinton has remained vague, and the GOP will definitely call her on it.

They don't WANT common sense to be seen or heard in any widespread way.

(9,126 posts)He may be plagued by red baiting, but since Hillary will have put him through the fire on that, by the time he gets to the general it will be over. If he can win the nomination, he can beat ANY Republican. Just as ANY Democrat will be any Republican because of basic electoral math. The Republicans have so much to throw at Clinton including the speeches and the foundation donations which is recent. She will mobilize the R base and depress the D one. He is a much stronger candidate, no matter how much he will be outspent.

(9,126 posts)This is playing for the top spot and no one will play fair. Just see the attacks that have already started. It's going to be much worse than 2008.

(51,076 posts)he's been honest from day one and his message is the same day in and day out. He is like a soft summer breeze, warm and all cuddly feeling. The guy is a rock, solid as granite and honest as the day is long. America is ready for a Bernie Sanders and America will vote for Bernie Sanders in droves.
I know a few republiCONs who will be and I know a lot of Democratic voters who won't vote for Hillary on a bet. It all adds up to a Sanders win
