LITTLE ROCK, Ark. A Democrat is not likely to win this state in the 2016 presidential election, not even one with the last name Clinton.
But on Saturday, Hillary Rodham Clinton returned to Arkansas where she and her husband began their political ascent, delivering a fiery critique of Republican policies and a pep talk of sorts for Democrats who suffered big losses in the midterm elections.
Mrs. Clinton denounced Republicans as the party of the past and tried to portray the extreme comments of one candidate, the businessman and reality TV star, Donald J. Trump, as representative of the entire party.
Theres nothing funny about the hate he is spewing at immigrants and their families, Mrs. Clinton said of Mr. Trump who addressed Arkansas Republicans in Hot Springs, Ark. on Friday. But, she added, of the other Republican candidates, The sad truth is if you look at many of their policies, it can be hard to tell the difference.

(45,120 posts)I've never encountered a Democrat I saw as an enemy even one's that I didn't agree with all the time. I have a Blue dog Senator that I have had a few unpleasant exchanges with and I don't even think of him as an enemy. He beats a republican any day.

I can't mention Joe Lieberman without saying I appreciate his tireless work to repeal DADT. At that moment he was on the side of the angels.

As someone who was raised in the south, albeit not the deep south, Florida, Zell Miller, profoundly disappointed me. He went totally off the deep end...
