Yes, there are differences between social and economic issues.

And that's an oversimplification. There are a lot of issues, and they don't fit neatly into the categories of "social" and "economic" and the links between them vary from practically nil to practically indistinguishable.

Example: global warming and police brutality against minorities. We could suck all the CO2 out of the atmosphere and innocent black people will still be getting shot by the police. If an act of God ended all racism there would still be way too much CO2 in the atmosphere.

Example: LGBT rights and banking regulation. Re-passing Glass Steagall, thus preventing investment and commercial banking from occurring in the same firm, will do nothing to help bring about full LGBT equality. Conversely, even if LGBT people were treated by all of society no differently than people with green eyes, that would do nothing to limit abuses in the financial sector.

There are a lot of important issues. And there are also a lot of progressives, some of whom have different priorities than others which is natural. Still, at the end of the day, we agree on most everything. All of the issues are important, let's give them all their due, and also be respectful of other progressives who see the priorities slightly differently, because we are on the same side.

Above all, let's make sure that after primary season ends, we all unite against the GOP, because one thing I can say for certain is that on every single issue, the GOP is much, much, worse than any of the leading Dem candidates, all of whom I like.
