Romney Says His Policies On Israel Will Be ‘Opposite’ Of Obama’s

By Meghashyam Mali - 06/17/12 12:20 PM ET

Mitt Romney on Saturday promised social conservative voters that his approach towards Israel would be the "opposite" of Obama administration's policies.

Asked how he would "strengthen the U.S.-Israel relationship," during a video address to attendees of the Faith and Freedom Coalition conference, Romney said he would "just look at the things the president has done and do the opposite," reports said.

Romney also said he would be "leading in Syria by encouraging our friends there like the Turks and the Saudis to provide weapons to the insurgents."

Romney has been a strong advocate of arming opposition forces seeking the ouster of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, but such moves have been rejected by the Obama administration.

I'd be a little concerned about nuclear terrorism if it does happen, though. Those bastards in Tehran......they've got connections.....

I haven't heard such a finely reasoned opinion since Skip Farkle gave Maggie Glumph this daring riposte during morning recess at Glennhaven Elementary, "I know you are but what am I?"

Ah, the classics. Good to see at least one politician adhere so closely to them. Now if Romney can only find a running mate with very few cooties the Republican ticket will be set.

Somebody also needs to remind him that Israel is not part of the United States too. A valued ally, yes, but we don't just do what an extremely vocal and aggressive elements within the Israeli government wants us to do just because that's what they want to have happen.

Anything Obama does is bad. How long can he use that? I wonder how the people of Israel think of this.
