Hoping some O'Malley supporters can answer this.

Why is the media so dismissive of MOM? He is a darn fine Democrat, a good man, has good ideas (especially on climate) and he should be polling within 10 points of Hillary Clinton. Actually, he is my second choice in for the primary and I can't for the life of me figure out why he is not polling within the margin of error against Hillary. I get why Webb and Chaffee are not doing well, one Confederate sympathizer and one former Republican, blah! I am hoping that after the debates O'Malley climbs in the polls right up near Clinton. If Hillary wins the primary and I believe she will, I want to see MOM in her cabinet somewhere so he can make another run for it. He would make an awesome President.

the MO'M campaign has planned this campaign as an underdog. A few month ago, in the MO'M group many of us were watching who he was choosing to run and manage his campaign. They are all generally skilled in come from behind progressive campaigns.

Think Bill DeBlasio. Even I knew it would be an uphill battle for MO'M, but I sure cannot understand why he isn't polling better with the exception that while hillary is a media lightning rod and Bernie is well, bernue — it seems like a sensible candidate isn;t good enough for the media.

I still believe that will change in the coming months. I liked what he had to say about this in his Ebony magazine interview:

EBONY: There’s some in your party who believe that you and Bernie Sanders are challenging the woman who should be the heir apparent.

MO: Well, I’m definitely a challenger. In our party, there’s usually an inevitable front-runner right up until the very first contest. Then, in our party, usually, the voice of a new generation emerges. Then the contest narrows. I am running to be president of the United States and, like many other candidates who are not very well known until the first contest, I am very focused on those three contests and making my case to our fellow Americans who live in those states of Iowa and New Hampshire, and then, after that, South Carolina and Nevada. That’s my focus. I’m clearly a challenger and she’s clearly the inevitable front-runner of the year. I believe that if we continue to run a campaign of ideas, offering the truthful and honest and bold actions we need to take in order to make our country better, I believe the people will respond to that message, as well as to the vulnerability. That’s what I intend to do. I think the challenging campaigns that succeed are those that offer the ideas that serve our country. That’s what I intend to do.

between hrc and bernie, and the msm just CAN'T get it's head around so many serious candidates.

I do expect that, during/after debates, he'll move up. Watch THESE as examples of his ability:

There is an "anybody but Hillary" crowd out there. They are small but they have jumped on the wrong bandwagon. I really believe that MOM is the only other Dem besides Hillary that could beat the GOP in the general election. He is one smart man.

Is a great candidate, it's just that Sanders is generating all of the buzz by not playing the traditional political game. I wish TO GOD someone would start hosting O'Malley house parties. He's charismatic and has a great message.

He is stating substantive policy positions on major issues and yet he is barely registering in the polls. I find him quite impressive so far and am puzzled by the lack of support or even attention for him.

I'm Canadian so I haven't pushed any of the candidates but I do rec threads about candidates I think should be read including some of Martin O'Malley threads.

We have an upcoming election in October and if O'Malley was running here he would definitely have my support!

I appreciate very much all the work we — you especially — do to make that information available. On DU it is all we can do.

I don;t like to fight with people on the internet.

I am out there on the ground making sure people get to know Martin a lot better than they do now.

and the fantasy candidate for the left wing of the party.

And, he endorsed Clinton in 2008, when she was running as a Mark Penn-style centrist against Obama.
