(3,073 posts)Was a treat to have the President at a venue that was right in my town! Never heard Marc Anthony before and that was fun too. Very young, hip crowd- great people watching and far more Latin (no surprise) then most Obama or Democrstic fundraisers- especially here on Miami Beach. But this is a key demographic- we need these folks and the youth fired up and voting.
And - of course-there was a terrific speech by our President. Go-Bama.

(308 posts)Marc Anthony is a singer and he's been very high-profile for a while now.
He became best-known to American audiences when he got married to Jennifer Lopez. They are now divorcing, but were together for a number of years.
As Bill Maher said recently, more Hollywood celebrities are going to have to donate to Obama if they want to out-raise Romney. Too many wealthy left-wing folks sit around not donating while the Republican billionaires keep writing out checks.
