Marc Rubio parrots the RNC sound bite - "It's a middle class tax increase." Why? "SCOTUS said so."

The Supreme Court said no such thing. And you know that. They said the mandate was constitutional under the purview of Congress. That's their role in all of this. No more nor less.

Sorry to see you join in on the RNC's misdirection. At one point I thought you were a fairly level-headed, pragmatic voice in your increasingly extremist party. What's next? Going to parrot FAIR's racist sound bite points on immigration policy?

It's your call. Or not.

Rand Paul says that just because SCOTUS says it, doesn't make it so!

Which is it? Now I am utterly confused.

Does Rand Paul have an opinion.

Uh ... yes?

And even worse, they aren't the same opinion.

Oh, no. Two different things to keep straight. No wonder you're utterly confused.

(You should be. My subject line is false. SCOTUS has a majority opinion, which is composed of at least two separate opinions but which agree on the main point. There's a minority opinion, which agrees with much of the majority opinion on a minor point, but disagrees on the main point. And, of course, there have been topics on which SCOTUS, over the course of a number of years, gives to divergent opinions as the majority opinion shifts.)

stated that is was not constitutional under the commerce clause or the necessary and proper clause. It is constitutional by way of the congress authority to levy taxes. Thus, the mandate is a tax. What is so controversial in that?
