And that progressive message is our victory. People are fed up, and I was amazed at the (admittedly unscientific) web polls and the (slightly less unscientific) CNN focus group who picked Bernie as the winner. That was pretty gratifying, because I'm for Bernie all the way. He really had some passion tonight.

The clear losers: Chafee and Webb.

Stellar third place: O'Malley for that great ending statement.

I kept expecting one of those hooks to emerge from offstage and drag him off.

O'Malley did pretty good and you might well be right about running-mate material. He's an easterner, though. Either Bernie or Hillary will likely be looking for a midwesterner who can bring in some of those states, particularly Ohio and Michigan.

Predictably, the media heads on MSNBC and CNN picked Hillary the winner in spite of the CNN focus group and those online polls.

The flub that I noticed was when Hillary said that the gun industry is the ONLY industry that isn't held accountable. That's just wrong. Big oil, big pharma, Monsanto, big tobacco, the list goes on. Not to mention the crooks on Wall Street.

What were the other two? Mine's wonky, I admit - I'm sure most viewers didn't really notice it.

The number of people of color in our prisons for "crimes" like drug possession, while the white CRIMINALS on Wall Street and other corporate "havens" away from prosecution are basically rewarded for screwing the American people should really be focused on so that we can start freeing those in prison that are there unfairly in this society that prosecutes POC and those who are more disadvantage especially. Bernie is the best one to take a stand for them against the prison industrial complex!

In most cycles, many of these guys wouldn't even make it on the main stage.

Sanders performance was probably sufficient to sustain his support at current levels, but he didn't have the sort of breakout he needed to actually move up.

The others already register in the polls at statistically insignificant levels, and they did nothing to change that tonight.

it also won't be explained through details. advertising is about repeating a simple message, not getting mired down in observations, etc.

Bernie did a great job of playing to his base, as is abundantly clear from reading posts at DU. But I very much doubt he won many converts.

The others were complete non-factors.

Hillary was on message and on point, she was clearly prepared. Head and shoulders above the rest, I was not exaggerating at all.

Just to even come up with that question and then for CNN to use it, and put it straight to Bernie Sanders, that was not intended as a trap question at all.

If AA voters listened with anything close to open minds, Bernie's response there should have erased their trust issues with the guy.

This is about double the percentage support for Hillary in du polls where who you will vote for is asked. If I remember right Hillary comes in at around 10% on those.

Then again, there is really nothing to take away from it except this place is an echo chamber.
