Why does the SUBJECT line support alphanumeric only, no special characters. (Original Post) CurtEastPoint Feb 2020 OP
I think it is a coding safety measure in response to the 2016 hacking of DU. N/T CottonBear Feb 2020 #1
I just found this thread in the Lounge that does just that: CaliforniaPeggy Feb 2020 #2

And just so you know, you'll be labeled a poo poo head if you don't share.

Can you post ® and © too?

Here's a handy chart: https://ascii.cl/htmlcodes.htm

If you preview, it will be converted and then the resulting character will be removed before it posts. This happens only with the "title" line so far as I can tell. (Certain characters, such as "@", break URLs within the message text. These can be fixed with the same method, but suffer from the same trouble if previewed).

I have not tried all of the html ampersand codes (haven't had a need). Be sure to end each with a semicolon.

Damn, it's easy peasy, but I guarantee I'll misplace the cheat sheet when I need it. Hell, I can't even find my Post-It® Brand pad; so is life.
