afternoon. My phone was fine in dark mode, but he saw the same thing you see. I had to use my phone as a model for where to touch to turn it off for him. That worked, but if I hadn't been able to do that, he'd probably still be stuck.

Unfortunately I haven’t been able to reproduce it on any of my devices yet.

It’s possible that this is related to a different issue whereby a stylesheet file fails to load for some reason. Someone posted a site to open that I could navigate to settings and reconfigure.
I believe the problem may be due to my phone being on dark mode itself. I did turn it off but that did not make it better. btw I have a Samsung S22+
A more accurate description is the pages are dark with small file icons and no text showing. Clicking on icons opens other file icons
