Has anyone else noticed this?

A few weeks ago I started using night mode. I haven't been seriously documenting this, but it seems my laptop battery lasts longer since I did that. I'm no electronic genius, but to me it's reasonable to think less power might be being used with the dark background. Any truth to that?

How can I tell if I have OLED or AMOLED display on my five year old HP laptop?

A quick search with the model number of your laptop ( on the label on underside )
will take you to an HP specs page that will tell you what they used.
