The Trace, Bloomberg-Backed Journalism Startup, Tackles Gun Violence 'Epidemic'

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/06/16/the-trace-bloomberg-guns_n_7581446.html

NEW YORK -- Gun enthusiasts have plenty of options for industry news and firearms reviews. And the National Rifle Association boasts its own media arm to amplify any perceived threats against Second Amendment.

What’s missing in the gun-media landscape, say founders of The Trace, is a news outlet devoted to the prevention of violence.
====
John Feinblatt, president of Everytown for Gun Safety, said in an interview that the idea developed after his organization ran into difficulties obtaining information about gun violence. For instance, legislation passed in 2003 at the urging of the gun lobby has helped suppress information tracing guns from the point of sale to their use in violent crimes. That gun trace data, Feinblatt said, is "probably the single most important piece of information in solving crimes, unearthing networks of criminal activity, [and] figuring out how gun markets work."

Before the first day of operation the gunner's heads are exploding. The NRA/ILA characterizes it as a "propaganda outfit," part of a "disinformation campaign," and evidence of "Bloomberg’s ego-driven zeal to control" Americans' rights. This is typical of the pro gun side of the "debate". Attack attack attack without knowing the first thing about the site. Arguing from ignorance.

I'll keep an eye out and post the opening of the website as soon as it goes live.

the real terrorism of 30,000 guns deaths a year, not to mention the epidemic of gun play resulting in tragedies of infinite varieties.

The Second Amendment still on the books is a mistake, and those misinterpreted words written by an all male cast in an era of single shot, wildly inaccurate muzzleloaders, complete with cotton loading wads and lead balls, is killing Americans.....for no reason other than the idol worship of the Golden Calf.

The NRA says these are the same thing; the NRA is evil, and stupider than a bullet:
