Legal CBD Vape Oil and Other Products? Thoughts/Experiences?

New to this group and I apologize if other threads have already addressed this topic.

I live in a state where marijuana is currently illegal. I have seen on the internet a wide variety of different companies selling CBD oils and edibles claiming that they are 100% legal in all 50 U.S. states. From the research I have done it seems that they are, in fact, completely legal as they are derived from hemp and contain little to no THC.

I have a back condition from when I was younger that flares up from time to time and was thinking that this might help. I have a good amount of experience with smoking flower and eating edibles made from flower for recreational use mostly, but have noticed that at times when I had back pain that flower helped me.

I have went to my doctor in the past and at first he prescribed me a couple different prescription drugs (one being vicodin which I didn't want to take over long term for fear of dependency) but I would prefer to use something more natural when I need pain relief. I also was wondering they might help with stress or anxiety, which I wouldn't mind occasional relief from too.

I have read already that there are some companies selling products that use synthetic chemicals to mimic the effects of CBD and/or THC, and to be weary of the company that you buy products like this from because of the lack of regulation.

I was wondering if anyone on here has had experience using these products and could give me insight into their effectiveness at pain relief, and sources for companies that sell lab tested trustworthy products.

Thanks for any, and all, input in advance.

Looks like the hemp derived CBD might not be worth the $. I could use flower, but prefer not to have to worry about the legality, which is why I quit using it recreationally. My state has the wonderful three strikes your out drug laws...

Herb helps me sleep all night, but for my back I found the Back2life machine works great. Just bought one at a garage sale for $5. Paid about $50 retail years ago. Found it works great for some but not others.

Google. "Back2life machine" to see what it is all about.

They suggest not to use it if you have had back surgery.

And hopefully I won't have to down the line. Doc said that would be a last resort. Thank you for the tip though. I will check it out.

I ordered two forms of CBD to give it a try; Charlottes Web that came in a disposable vape pen, and a sublingual CBD oil to be taken orally. I was hoping for something that was calming, something to replace the effects I get from a few drinks (alcohol). I couldn't discern ANY effects at all...NOTHING. Other than finding that out for myself, it was a total waste of money. I don't live in a state where medical marijuana is legal, but if I did I'd still have an open mind about trying a high CBD low THC strain of actual marijuana...something that still looks like a genuine leafy organic product. Anyway, that was my experience. Wishing you good luck on your search for an alternative pain medication.

I have seen some people on reddit discussing this and they warned of sites selling "snake oil" type CBD fakes. So I am just curious. Some of their posters seem to say that a few sites out there have products that have worked for them and have lab tested products. Of course, CBD does effect everyone differently. Also, I noticed that it seemed like at least a couple of the people praising certain sites worked for the sites and were called out by other redditers(?).

Besides the use for back pain I was also hoping to get the calming effect you mentioned. Sorry to hear it didn't work for you.

relative to the dosages the few non-commercial pro-cbd sites I found recommended for pain relief. The non-commercial sites recommended starting with i50 mg cbd/day, then stepping up, and stated that the effective therapeutic dose for most people is 150-300 mg/day. I was seeing prices online and in local shops of $35-50 for bottles claiming 50mg cbd total in the bottle. So $100+ a day to get more than a placebo effect for the average person.

A single puff of good quality cannabis probably contains more cbd than an entire bottle of that stuff. I'll just stick with misdemeanor quantities of the real deal until full legalization or a decent medical mmj program in my state.
