I left the NYC area in the mid 60's, and my old New Yorker accent is largely gone, replaced by the West Coast dialect, which means I have almost zero accent now ... Just a few words still have that Brooklyn brogue underneath (Shut da cah doah?)

When I listen to Bernie speak, I hear New England, but it is really going to be a mixed bag for him as it is for everybody ... If you stay in one place long enough, your vocal patterns after going to change over time ...

I think Bernie's ideas sounds great in any accent!
